for ELAC Members

The English Language Arts Council recognizes that reading literature is an invaluable form of professional development for teachers of English Language Arts. We encourage all our members to foster their own identities as readers, to seek out new and diverse texts, and to share these texts with their students and colleagues.

The purposes of the grant are:

• To support members’ ongoing development as teachers of reading
• To enable members to acquire texts that meet their own professional learning goals
• To encourage the use of diverse texts in classrooms
• To provide text recommendations and reviews to be publicly shared with members

ELAC members are eligible for a grant of up to $200.00 to purchase books to be read and reviewed by the member.
